Emma's almost here!

I am here on this beautiful, spring day at Belmont Abby College enjoying the scenery and the birds chirping. I can hardly believe that Emma will be here in around 7 weeks. I am starting to realize how our lives are really going to change. I am not nervous or anxious, I am very excited, but I know this is such a turning point in our life and there is no going back!
We are going to have a home birth. I am so excited and thankful. Sam and I went through so much trial and some hardship going through this journey of finding a midwife, finding a way to pay for a home birth and feeling confident about our decision along the way. I feel much more at ease about the time Emma will enter the world now that this part of the experience is settled. I am actually very excited about the whole thing.
The “Nesting Phase” has served its purpose for sure. =) We have everything we need to start our life with our little girl. I am so thankful for all the help and support from our family and friends. We finally cleared out Emma’s room (the spare was a “storage room” for us) and I feel peaceful and ready for her to arrive. We got a lot of the Pottery Barn Kids set that I wanted and in the next couple of weeks I hope to add all the cute, finishing touches to make her room feel more like a baby girl’s nursery.
I am continually wondering and dreaming what our little Emma will look like. I can’t wait to find out! I imagine her with blue eyes and blond, curly hair; although red hair is a great possibility! However she looks we just pray she is a healthy and happy baby that nurses well and sleeps well at night. =)
This week my older sister from MI, my niece and her friend are all here to stay for the week. That will be very nice too. I am looking forward to spending time with them.
I hope the warm weather stays! I love waking up to sunshine and pretty flowers. Although the heat waves known to an NC summer can wait until after Emma arrives!
I hope to update again at least once before our little bundle makes her grand entrance into the world!
